Hello All Ennismore Curling Club Members:
Have you wanted to try curling with your kids, grandkids or family members just for fun at the Ennismore Curling Club? Or, do you have family members or friends who want to curl with you but can’t get to the Ennismore Curling Club through the week? If so you may be interested in a new opportunity to get out at the Ennismore Curling Club and introduce your family or friends to curling in a safe and fun environment.
Here are the essential details for you to get started:
Location: The Ennismore Curling Club (ECC), of course!
Schedule: Starting December 6, 2015, one Sunday of each month from December through March inclusive, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.. The dates are Sunday December 6, January 10, February 14, and March 6 (Cancelled due to Ice Rental).
Open to: Ennismore Curling Club Members and their family and friends who are non-members.
Fee: Free to all with the understanding that ECC Member curlers will provide instruction and support to their guests on the ice.
Structure: Volunteer(s) will be available to provide structure to member curlers and their guests. Volunteer(s) will help prepare new or novice curlers to try out curling by taping shoes for sliding, communicate on safety, organizing age appropriate curling groups, and, if appropriate short games.
Open Curling is not intended to be a league, bonspiel or to duplicate instructional curling. Rather it is an opportunity to get out on a curling rink with support from family or friends and work up to throwing a few rocks in a safe and social environment.
Equipment and Clothing: All equipment is provided except shoes. Your guests can wear their own clean running shoes in place of curling shoes.
Just be sure that guests wear comfortable warm loose fitting clothing (stretchy pants), a warm vest or jacket, gloves or mitts, and bring nice CLEAN, CLEAN running shoes (all the dirt & gravel picked out of the bottoms). Please carry these shoes into the Club and change into them before you are going onto the ice.
Need more information or have questions or would like to volunteer to help please do not hesitate to contact Kim Ray, ECC Board Member/ECC Curler at 705-292-6827 or email@example.com.
