Ennismore Curling Club

2026 / 2027 SEASON

New to Curling? New to ECC?

Every age, every schedule, every level of experience — there's a spot for you on our ice.

Looking for a fun new way to stay active and meet people this winter? Whether you've never thrown a rock in your life, curled years ago and want back in, or you're an experienced curler new to the area — the Ennismore Curling Club is a welcoming, member-run club with a place for you.

We hear from a lot of members in their 30s, 40s and 50s who figured curling was a "someday" sport — something to pick up after retirement. It isn't. Between flexible commitment options (full season, half season, drop-in, or spare-only) and evening leagues that work around a career or a young family, there's never been an easier time to try it.

And just as many of our members are recently retired, or new to the area and looking for a fun way to meet people — whatever brought you here, you'll fit right in.

New to Curling? A Few Quick Answers
  • Do I need experience? Not at all — most people who join have never thrown a rock before. Learn to Curl, Try Curling, and your first few games will teach you everything.
  • Do I need my own equipment? Not to start. We have loaner brooms, sliders, and delivery devices available — especially for Learn to Curl, Try Curling, and our Junior program — so you can try it before buying anything.
  • What should I wear? Comfortable warm layers and clean, flat-soled shoes — indoor sneakers are perfect.
  • Can I bring a friend or my spouse? Absolutely — many of our newest members joined together with a friend, spouse, or family member.

2-Person Leagues

One returning, one brand-new — two 2-person formats to check out:

RETURNING
2-Person Open Stick Curling — Friday Afternoons

Curl standing up — no bending or kneeling required. This 2-person league (open to men, women, or mixed teams) follows the official 2-Person Stick Curling regulations and offers a choice of Stick or Hack delivery, so a stick curler and a traditional hack curler can play as a team together. Great if you'd like to curl with a spouse or partner who delivers differently than you do.

Play 1st half, 2nd half, or the full season. Fun and recreational — all skill levels welcome.

NEW
2-Person Doubles Curling — Monday Afternoons

A fast-paced 2-person Doubles format, now offered daytime on Mondays at 3:45 PM as well as our existing Tuesday night Doubles league — a great option if evenings don't work for your schedule.

Play 1st half, 2nd half, or the full season.

Just Want to Spare?

Not ready to commit to a regular team? Register as a Spare and we'll call on you when a league needs an extra player — you tell us which leagues, days, and times work for you, so you're only ever asked to play when it fits your schedule.

Life at ECC
Bonspiel banquet table set for a social event at ECC

Curling isn't just a sport, it's a social activity. ECC is member-run and managed — members volunteer a few hours a year to help with bonspiels, the annual garage sale, and other events, which keeps our membership fees as low as possible while giving you an easy way to meet people. We also take part in Interclub play against other local clubs, and most of our leagues are Mixed or Open, with dedicated Men's, Women's, and Doubles leagues too.

We're a community-oriented club, too — we run an in-school curling program for Grades 7–8 students at local schools, introducing a new generation to the game. It's one of the fun ways members can volunteer with the club.

"Ennismore Curling Club's genuinely friendly, supportive members made our debut season unforgettable. We highly recommend to anyone wanting to try curling in a warm, welcoming environment; you'll leave with new skills, new friends, and a smile you can't brush off!"

— Steve & Maria Morgan, ECC members since 2024
